Open from 21:00 until 5:00 the following morning every day except Tuesday, Furoujon lights up the 2 floor of a Machiya building as an easygoing karaoke bar that welcomes late-night arrivals. Run by an approachable owner, the room has a warm, home-like atmosphere that feels just as comfortable for a quick drink after work as it does for gathering with friends.
Drawing on past experience as an itamae chef, the owner prepares satisfying bar snacks, including a 3-variety appetiser platter that pairs naturally with multiple rounds of drinks. Offerings that hit the spot for regular drinkers also include market-sourced fresh fish dishes, gari chūhai, and shōchū mixed with tea.
The drink lineup covers plenty of ground, from bottled Heineken beer to whiskies like Kakubin, The Busker, and Maker's Mark, as well as Saika umeshu. For celebratory moments, Champagne such as Janisson & Fils is also on hand.
With an affordable cover charge that includes karaoke, guests can settle in however they like—singing a favourite tune or simply chatting across the counter over a drink.
